ABSTRACT A new species of rhizocephalan. Succulina oblonga, is described and illustrated on the basis of material collected from Amakusa Island, Kyushu, Japan. It parasitizes the littoral crab Cyclograpsus intermodius. It could not be determined whether earlier records of sacculinid species from Japanese C. intermedius belong to the same species.
