Abstract The complexity of the fifth limb of myodocopine Ostracoda has led to many interpretations of its homologies. The presence of muscles interpreted to mark the axis of the endopod of Isocypridina quatuorsetae supports the interpretations by H. J. Hansen and by G. Boxshall contending that the fifth limb of the Cypridinidae bears an unsegmented exopod.
