This article analyzes German-language publications on Russia’s February Revolution of 1917 published after the demise of the Soviet Union. As most Anglophone publications ignore their German counterparts, this piece aims to bring both historiographies together. It starts with a general outline of the German historiography on February 1917 and then discusses key topics such as society and politics, the local perspective, culture, and violence in more detail.
