<title> SUMMARY </title>This paper examines the rigid classifications in which Galileo was often confined. It claims the necessity to keep the distance from the formulas. It proposes to open to the several interpretations and to restore Galileo not only as maker of theories, experiments, machines, but also of an image of the science.
