The growth of pollen tubes, which is induced by cyclic AMP (cAMP), might be promoted by indole acetic acid (IAA). We found that the content of cAMP in cucumber pollen was increased by the addition of IAA. These results suggest that IAA may be involved in pollen tube growth by regulating the change of cAMP in pollen.
