AbstractTwo new species of Axioidea were found amongst the deep-sea material recently collected from New Caledonia. Meticonaxius dentatus sp. nov. is unique among members of the genus by the presence of the teeth on the rostrum and the merus of the large cheliped. Oxyrhynchaxius tricarinatus sp. nov. is the third species known in the genus and is unique in bearing three dorsal ridges on the abdomen.
