ABSTRACT The complete larval development is described for Pachycheles stevensii Stimpson, a shallowwater porcellanid crab from Japan, reared under laboratory conditions. The development consists of 2 zoeal stages and one megalopa; the duration of development, from hatching through megalopa, takes about 28 days at a temperature of 15°C and a salinity of 35 ppt. The morphological features of zoeal and megalopal stages of P. stevensii are compared with those of other species of Pachycheles.
