Affiliations: 1: Jaya Bhattacharji has been involved in publishing since she graduated from Delhi University in 1996. In her varied career she has launched four s, one of which was inherited from the British Council (www.womenswriting.com); helped revive the Indian chapter of Women in Publishing; served as guest editor of the special issues of The Book Review on children's and young adults' literature since 2000; and written a report in 2003 for the UK Publishers Association on the book market in India. She is online editor of a creative writing workshop on DesiLit.org; is literary director with the Siyahi Literary Agency in Jaipur that coordinated the Jaipur Literary Festival; and was the only Indian participant in the Asia Pacific Youth Forum, organized by the Japan Foundation in Okinawa in January 2006. Until recently Bhattacharji was commissioning editor of Zubaan, a feminist publishing house in New Delhi.
